Interface Design Checklist
Here are some quick items to check out before you publish your next site.
These simple reminders might also help if your next design feels like it’s missing something.
Logo
- Bold enough?
- Holds it’s own place in the layout?
Navigation
- Clear and easy to recognize?
- Is the navigation consistent in location and style?
- Home page link?
- Sitemap link?
Content Div
- Enough whitespace? ( 15-25px Typical )
Page header
- Does header background image clash with logo?
- Does header make the “top of page” easy to scan?
Footer
- Contact Information?
- Copyright Info?
- Misc Links?
- Advertisements?
- Respected / Friends links?
Consistent Feel
- Are there any drastic changes in style?
- Color Pallet Consistent, or does it need tweaking? colourlovers.com
Fonts
- Do the fonts used compliment the page design?
- Are there too many fonts used?
- Can you read the font well? ( Contrast )
- Are the Title <h1><h2> Tags and the smaller “Content Text” in balance with the page proportions?
Separation
- Is there good separation between interface and content areas? ( Whitespace \ Color Contrast )
